weekend plans + iphone suggestions.

{photo from Fete NY via Snippet & Ink}

Yesterday was a perfectly low-key birthday. I felt loved and appreciated all day long, due in no small part to your lovely well-wishes!

I'm still muddling through a rather annoying cold, but Jordan and I have some plans for a few birthday festivities this weekend anyway, and I'm hoping sooner or later this stuffy nose is going to move on out of my system.We're headed to our town's "First Friday" festivities tonight with some friends, then to Thomasville tomorrow for a trip to my favorite bookstore. Jordan's got something up his sleeve for Saturday evening, and Sunday afternoon we'll celebrate with my family before hosting small groups and the Super Bowl at our home.

Through it all, I'll be figuring out my brand new iPhone! Jordan surprised me with it before dinner last night, and I almost don't want to touch it, it's so beautiful. I've gotten some wonderful app suggestions from Twitter friends (already installed? Pinterest, Flipboard, Instagram, Jesus Calling, Netflix, and Evernote), but I'd love to hear your suggestions, both on your favorite apps and your favorite iPhone features. (Also appreciated? Instructions for Instagram. I'm a little lost.)

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

instagram: take a picture with the photo button in the middle OR with your camera app, then add a 'filter' to make it look super cool, then touch the check button - all done! it uploads to your feed. you can email them, twitter them etc etc

also awesome apps - this american life (if you're into the radio show of course), youversion (bible and AWESOME) blogpress (blogging on the go, good for travel and for writing posts while out and about)and viber (free calls/texts with 3G/wifi)

enjoy it. i LOVE mine. :)

congrats on the new iphone...go get a case right now if you dont have one. these things were not built to live without one. a shattered screen is a bummer.

so exciting! and i second the "get a case. now." suggestion. i have an otterbox, and while it nearly doubles the size & weight and certainly isn't the most attractive thing on the block (i've had my iphone for two years and i still gasp at how pretty and tiny it is when i take it out of the case to clean it haha) but i've dropped it, thrown it, stepped on it, etc. and it has not a single scratch on it. it seriously makes the phone indestructible- definitely worth sacrificing its beauty if you're half as clutzy as me ;)
