This past week, I joined with a group of friends to host a "favorite things" party (get details here). We had a blast, and I decided: Why not share a few of my favorite things with you?
So here it is, my first ever "real" giveaway, full of my favorite things. But there is a catch.
My heart is heavy for our friends and loved ones in our neighboring state of Alabama. The disaster in Japan was devastating, and I felt so helpless being so far away. But this? This is close. It has forever affected our friends and our family, and the state Jordan still calls home.
If this blogging world has taught me nothing else, it has at least shown me that we can come together to make a difference, even a small one. I've been inspired by women from a variety of walks and locations who have chosen to use their blogs for a greater good. Today, I want to do that.
To enter today's giveaway, I'm asking that you make a donation -- no matter how small -- to the Mid-Alabama chapter of the American Red Cross. I don't care if it's $3 or $30; any donation will go a long way in helping the state make a speedy recovery. The devastation is great, but our God is greater. This is our chance to be His hands and feet.
Here's a look at what you'll be winning:
1. The latest issue of Real Simple magazine
2. Burt's Bees lip balm in pomegranate
3. A $5 gift card to Nuberri yogurt (or Starbucks, if there's no Nuberri in your area)
4. A copy of Little Bee (reviewed here yesterday)
5. A Caldrea candle in Citron Ginger
6. Essie nail polish in Sugar Daddy
7. Set of stationery from Target's collection
8. A CD mix of my current favorites
9. An 8.5" x 11" print (on white cardstock) designed by yours truly
10. Lollia shea butter small hand cream in Wish

To enter, leave a comment below telling me you made a donation to the Red Cross (here) or another relief organization (like this one or this one). Upon donation, save your confirmation email. I'll need this information if you're selected as the winner.
You can blog/tweet about this giveaway for extra entries.

Annie, I really appreciate what you are doing. The devastation all around us is overwhelming. Thankfully we only had very minor damage compared to so many right here close to us. I'm on my iPhone now, but I'll be back once I get on my computer to contribute and enter in your giveaway! Thank you:)
Annie, I'm so glad you're doing this. Not because of the giveaway, but because you're encouraging your readers to do something that may be small in their eyes. Like you said though, it will go a long way. It has been so sad to see images and video footage of the storm and what it's done to our state. The things I'm hearing from those who've visited Tuscaloosa and other places that were hit are just heartbreaking. Almost everyone here knows SOMEONE who was affected in some way by the storm. I can't imagine having EVERYTHING gone in a matter of 30 seconds!! We need to keep the people of Alabama, and those in the other states affected, in our prayers for a long, long time. Just wanted to let you know I made a donation to the Red Cross.
i just made a donation to my local red cross chapter. thanks again for doing this! and i blogged about this giveaway too!
i tweeted it.
i LOVE that you are doing this.
i just donated to the red cross to support the disaster relief in alabama. off to tweet about it now.
xoxo
This is wonderful. You have such a good heart. I donated to the red cross. My prayers are constantly with the families and people affected by the disaster, but it's so great to see God's heart shining through in people like you who take it a step further. God bless you Annie.
I donated to the American Red Cross and if I win something girly I'm going to be incredibly disappointed.
