I'm not much for wedding videos.
In fact, here's a confession for you: A sweet, dear friend of our family's graciously volunteered to video our wedding as his gift to us. And I still haven't watched it.
That's right, folks. Two years post-wedding, and I haven't managed to sit down and watch our wedding video.
The truth is, I don't want to ruin the magic. I know what I think of our wedding day. I remember the cold in the air. The beautiful sounds of praises in the great outdoors. My excitement. Sharing special moments with my dad before the ceremony. Gratitude for the friends who stood with us that day. Jordan's red nose and smiling eyes.
None of that can really be captured on video, and my imagination is pretty good at taking care of the rest. So I haven't bothered to watch.
But then someone posted this little gem to their blog. And now I'm thinking maybe by year three, I'll be ready to sit down with Jordan and watch our younger, naive-er selves say yes to life and love to each other.
Because this is how it's supposed to be. Friends and family and laughter and tears.
Yep, I'm starting to think maybe wedding videos are okay after all.

This video just doesn't get old. Gets me everytime. I hope to find love like that someday.
This girl is stinking adorable! Thanks for sharing, Friend! :)
Hey Annie,
I'm just floored by your post. I didn't watch the video yet, but what you said about your own wedding video REALLY struck a chord with me...we were married over two years ago too (today is actually our nine year anniversary of meeting) and I have still yet to sort through the pictures from our wedding photographer (we have some candids, but that's it). My family, and especially my husband, think I am NUTS. But it's for EXACTLY the same reason you haven't watched your video, I just haven't been able to articulate it until now. Like you, I just want to remember the day the way I remember it and the way it felt...somehow looking through the reality of 2,000 pictures makes it feel less ethereal than it does in my mind...
All the best,
Kristen XO
That was adorable. It's by far the most precious wedding video I have ever seen. Like you, I have yet to watch our wedding video, and I could never figure out why it wasn't at the top of my to-do list after the wedding. That is, until you just explained it so perfectly to me!
I refused to have a wedding video even made. We did have the audio recorded, and we listened to it on our first anniversary. (Of course, weddings are pretty different than they were when I was planning mine 11 years ago. So many more details and so much more personal.)
What a beautiful video! Love your post too. So sweet.
How amazing. I love this video.
I just sat here and cried like a baby. I've been married almost 13 years; got married when I was 18. My children were staring at me while I watched the video... not understanding why it would make me cry. I LOVE weddings. I love all that they hold.
Yep, yep. Made me cry too! And I mean Ben Rector knows how to write a song about love. He's amazing.
They're THE cutest!
Brightened my day! Thank you :)
Oh my goodness. I love this video. I want one! :)
