grateful for: joy.

You already know I love goofy. I love it when people are brave enough to let loose a little, to put aside insecurities and embarrassments in honor of being silly. It's something I don't always do successfully, but I'm trying, which is probably why I really love this video.

I know. You've probably seen it. Maybe you're sick of it. Maybe viral videos (like that hilarious couple who danced down the aisle) get on your nerves. But I like them. I like it when people do silly things just because they can. Or maybe, because they should.

Because, don't we all have things to be goofy about? To be joyful about?

And isn't it always better to be around people who don't take themselves too seriously versus people do?

I think so, and today, that's what I'm grateful for.

For the moments when we've just got joy seeping out of our pores.

And for the people who are willing to be a little silly and share that joy with the rest of us.

{Side note: Whoever had the idea to stick Hoda and Kathie Lee with the "fill up my cup" line? Kudos. That was brilliant. Honestly, when do those two not look like they've laid back a few? Also, I kind of love Brian Williams. What is it with me and the men of NBC? Because anyone who knows me at all knows I've always had a thing for Tom Brokaw.}

Throughout the latter part of November, I'm dedicating my time to the things that fill my life with joy. You can find more posts on gratitude through the month of November here.

You've got to appreciate people being silly. A good flash mob or funny youtube video can absolutely change my outlook on a day. Thank you for this reminder. (Not to mention, the video!)

Random bursts of joy are the best. Have you ever seen Brian Williams in one of his cameos on 30 Rock? They're hilarious.
