{spring 2005}
The older I get, the more grateful I am that I had a father who danced with me.
Who showed me the ropes.
Who helped prepare me for the real world.
Who made me breakfast.
Who took me on dates.
Who showed me what the leader of a home looks like.
Who taught me how to watch ESPN without wincing.
Who encouraged me to dig deeper.
Who played basketball with us.
Who threw us baseballs in the backyard.
Who taught us what Chuck Taylors were.
Who grew tomatoes in the backyard.
Who led us in Bible study together every night.
Who sang me "Daddy's Little Girl."
Who laughed and cried with me on my wedding day.
Who taught us the true meaning of the road less traveled.
Who helped me master the art of grilling.
Who loves creation.
Who loves the Creator.
Who loves my mom.
Who loves us.
This week, Mom shared with me how grateful she was that she had an earthly father who gave her glimpses of her heavenly one.
I'm so glad I can say the same thing.
Happy Father's Day to the best dad ever.

prom pic?
Thank you! The older I get, the more blessed I realize I am. No prom for me; this was actually trying on a dress for some banquet at Faulkner. I can't get over how young I look!
