I love my attorney-with-a-heart-of-gold husband and our dog named Junie B. I love my family and my quirky hometown that can't quite make up its mind between Southern propriety and hippie goodness. I love our little 1930s cottage with the neighbor who plays his jazz music just a little too loud. I love my friends who know all about me but love me anyway. I love newspapers and planners and feminism and faith and Leslie Knope and Tami Taylor. I love channeling Thoreau and escaping to the water. I love quiet moments and loud family dinners. I love celebrating and decorating and reading and watching good movies and listening to good music and playing a good game of Scrabble.
Mostly, I love living this life, and I kind of like writing about it too.
Last fall, I quit my job as a writer and editor for a legal publication to embark on my latest adventure: channeling my inner Kathleen Kelly to run a small local bookstore.
Each day, I'm striving to be more like the girls I read about in the books I love so much: Jo March, Anne Shirley, Polly Milton, Emily Starr, Hermione Granger, Caddie Woodlawn, Betsy Ray, Scout Finch, Elizabeth Bennet. I think that's really the best way I can tell you about me, by directing you to the books whose words have stuck with me long after the pages turned and the covers closed.
I hope you'll stick along for the ride.
